Public Health Nursing

Immunization Services 

  • DSHS: Provide Vaccines to Eligible People
  • Adult Safety Net Program - uninsured adults aged 19 and older
  • Texas Vaccines for Children Program – children 18 years and younger with lack of insurance, “underinsured”, enrolled in Medicaid, and other groups of eligible children

Emergency and Disaster Response – Clinical Team Role

  • Plan, coordinate, and hold events to deliver large-scale vaccinations and/or preventive and therapeutic medications and/or treatments
  • Participate in “shelter” clinical management and safety inspections
  • Provide disease consultation, in collaboration with the local health authority and/or the chief medical officer
  • Serve in “incident command” positions to support Bastrop County response/recovery events
